Notes

Some questions or lines of thought about the notes:

  • I have the notes, but I’m missing a homepage — an entry point, perhaps something like a now page?
  • I have the notes, but I’d like to be able to include images in them.
    • That’s the next thing I’m going to do.
  • I have the notes, but it would be relevant to include the archives of my projects.
    • That’s already coded; I just need to deploy it.
  • I have the notes, but perhaps I should add a logbook.
  • I have the notes, but maybe also some more developed articles.
  • I have the notes, but I might also need a bibliography.
  • I have the notes, but I probably need a more efficient tool to capture them on the fly.

This outlines the contours of a proper system around my research work. A system that already exists, privately, on my computer. What I’m questioning here is the possibility of making it public, but also of organizing it better.

In theory, the notes could serve as the foundation for everything: they could host images, gather archives, include a logbook — something already underway. The more developed notes could become articles, and those containing only a reference could feed into a bibliography.

However, centralizing everything in a single space might lead to confusion. The notes have a specific function: they are meant to build a body of work, not to indiscriminately house all types of content. This isn’t an informal receptacle, but a structured space oriented toward a purpose.
